Ed Fryatt takes Nevada Match Play title

RENO, NV (August 17, 2016) -- Ed Fryatt completed his run to the Nevada State Match Play title with a 2&1 win over Steve Sear in the 36-hole final at Somersett Country Club.
Fryatt was 4 down after the opening 20-holes before rallying against the top-seed.
The rally started with consecutive wins on the 22nd and 23rd holes to draw within 2 down. On the 27th hole Fryatt, the two-seed, get a bit closer before squaring the match on the 29th hole.
Sear would retake the lead on the ensuing hole but wins on the 31st, 32nd and 35th holes for Fryatt allowed him to complete the comeback.
Fryatt, who finished tied for second at the Carlton Woods Invitational, reached the finals with a 5&3 semifinal win over No. 19 Hudson Stremmel.
Sear moved into the final with a 19 hole triumph over four-seed Brady Exber.
