UT Arlington's Zach Galliford wins Welsh Amateur

OGMORE BY THE SEA, Wales (July 29, 2016) -- UT Arlington senior Zach Galliford finished off his run to the Welsh Amateur title on Friday. In the championship match at Southerndown Golf Club Galliford defeated Owen Edwards by a 2 up tally.
Galliford opened a 4 up lead following 18-holes of play be finishing the 36-hole match off during the afternoon session.
On his way to the championship tilt Galliford navigated his way through four previous matches. In the semifinals it was a w/o victory against Jonathan Bale while in the quarterfinals he had his dominant win of the week, a 5&4 tally over Richard Hooper.
Galliford got his match play run off to a strong start with a 2 up victory in the first round against Ioan Jones Drosinos and a second round 3&2 win versus Mitchell Reid.
