HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA (July 18, 2016) -- Amateurs Jeff Osberg and Christopher Crawford both finished the 36-hole marathon Philadelphia Open tied at even-par, setting up a four-hole aggregate playoff on Tuesday. The playoff will begin at 8:30 a.m. and include hole 6-7-8-9. This marks the third playoff in the last seven years.
Playing at The Ridge at Back Brook Christopher Crawford jumped out to a quick start shooting a 4-under 67 during the morning 18-holes. Crawford played nearly flawless golf in the morning with six birdies and two bogeys. The afternoon was a different story however, as Crawford struggled to a 4-over 75. Crawford birdied four holes, but also bogeyed four and double-bogeyed two.
Jeff Osberg played steady with two rounds of even-par 71 on Monday. Throughout the two rounds Osberg birdied nine holes, but it was his birdie on the 36-hole that proved to the biggest. Sitting at 1-over for the day and needing a birdie to get back to even-par on the final hole Osberg responded.
Overall the amateurs showed extremely well at the Philadelphia with 10 players finishing inside the top-10.
