Amateur Nick Bienz in hunt at Indiana Open
FRENCH LICK, IN (July 11, 2016) -- Nick Bienz opened the Indiana Open with a 2-under 68 and is in third place, just one-stroke back after 18-holes of play. Anthony Bradley and Jeff Howerton currently lead the field at French Lick Resort thanks to 3-under 67's.
Bienz, a rising redshirt sophomore at IUPUI, carded five birdies and three bogeys during his opening round. His birdies came on holes 1, 4, 10, 16 and 18.
In all nine amateurs finished the first day of the Indiana Open inside the top-10 and within four-strokes of the lead.
