Greenville (Miss.) Invitational: Alan Ellis wins by seven
GREENVILLE, MS (June 26, 2016) -- Alan Ellis of Greenwood, MS put together a pair of under-par rounds of 68-69 to finish 7-under and win the Greenville Amateur. Playing at Greenville Country Club Ellis was the only player to finish under-par.
Eilis, the winner of the 2014 Greenville Amateur opened with a 4-under 68 on Saturday. His round included eight birdies and four bogeys. Ellis was even-par after 14 holes before finishing with four straight birdies.
On Sunday Ellis continued his strong play carding five birdies, two bogeys and shot a 3-under 69. Ellis' best run came on holes 4-7 when he carded three birdies in a four hole span.
Duke Simmons of Brandon, MS finished second at even-par while Easton Key, Meridian, MS, was third at 1-over.

Greenville Invitational
The tournament is scheduled for 36-holes of stroke
play. There will be two divisions. The Regular
division
and a Super Senior division (age 60 and older). The
Super Senior Division will play from forward tees.
Each
division will be flighted after 18 holes of play. Open
to
all male amateur golfers.
