Palm Beach Sr. Better Ball: Connors, Goodhue win by two
HOBE SOUND, FL (May 29, 2016) - Michael Connors and Justin Goodhue both of Palm Beach, FL captured the Palm Beach Senior Better Ball on Saturday with a score of 16-under. Connors and Goodhue posted two day scores of 63-65--128 to win by two-strokes at Hobe Sound Golf Club.
The pair played bogey-free golf on Friday, carding seven birdies and an eagle on the par-4 15th. On Saturday Connors and Goodhue were a bit shaking out of the gate, bogeying the first hole but they soon settled in playing the final 17 holes without a bogey while birdieing eight times.
Chris Reeves (Jupiter, FL) and John Powers (Delray Beach, FL) posted a 14-under 36-hole total and finished second. The team's of Patrick Dewey (North Palm Beach, FL) and Carlos Toro (Jupiter, FL); Ryan Mason (Delay Beach, FL) and Ryan Lynch were 12-under and third.
Mason and Lynch shot the round of the tournament on Saturday with a 10-under 62. They eagled the par-5 first hole before proceeding to card eight birdies. From holes 5-9 they tallied five birdies in a row.
