GALLATIN, TN (May 26, 2016) - Jason Millard of Murfreesboro, TN shot a final round 69 to finish with a three day total of 16-under par to claim the 68th Annual SunTrust State Open Championship by four strokes over amateur Dawson Armstrong (Lipscomb University) of Brentwood, TN. Millard’s opening round of 10-under par 62 at The Club At Fairvue Plantation provided him with a four stroke lead which he never relinquished. Runner-Up Dawson Armstrong fired a 6-under-par 66 in today’s final round following his impressive second round 7-under par 65 to claim Low Amateur honors with a 54-hole score of 204. Armstrong, the reigning Western Amateur champion, cut Millard’s lead to three on the final nine, but was unable to close the gap and challenge the lead.
