ELLICOTT CITY, MD (May 18, 2016) - Tim Vigotsky holed a 25-foot pitch shot from heavy green-side rough at the first playoff hole (the 532-yard first) and the resulting birdie enabled him and partner Tim Krouse to win a three-way playoff for the Middle Atlantic Golf Association's 42nd Senior 4-Ball championship at Turf Valley Resort, May 17. Joining the Chantilly National members with regulation 4-under-par 67's on the 6,340-yard course were two-time champions Bobby Morris-Mike Occi, plus Lee Flemister-Michael Kelly.

Played in a steady all-day rain with temperatures in the low 50's, the winning score was the highest since a matching number in 2004. Krouse had three front-nine birdies, including the par 5's at Nos. 1 and 9, and Vigotsky, a past president of the MAGA, had back-nine birdies on the two par 3's, Nos. 13 and 17. Morris highlighted his round with three birdies for a team that shot the back in 4-under 31, while Flemister, a top-10 finisher in last weekend's Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation Two-Man Team championship, had three of his team's birdies and the pair kept the round alive with a 20-foot par save at the sixth.

George Mavrikes had four birdies and he and partner Ben Brundred, III, finished one stroke out of the playoff with 68, trailed by Steve Ford, another MAGA past president, and Henry Blue, and Bob Harwick and John Steele, at 69.

Mike Panos-Donald Meyer put up a 69 and won the Super Seniors (65-over) title, beating Roger Pitkin-Ronald Cornelison by two shots.
