ORANGEBURG, SC (May 12, 2016) - For the second straight year Todd Hendley has captured the SCGA Senior Championship with a final score of 3-under-par 213. Hendley’s nearest competitor at Orangeburg Country Club was Walter Todd who finished five shots back at 218.

Starting the day with a three-shot lead, the Greer native was slow and steady throughout the round making thirteen pars, three birdies and only two bogeys. With everyone trying to catch the champ, no one could come up with enough to do so.

Walter Todd of Laurens, made the biggest run for the title shooting four under par on the final two rounds. An opening 78 however, left the “rookie” senior too far behind to catch up and alone in second. Bob Edens, who was alone in second after day two, tried to make a run after two birdies on holes 7 and 8 got him back to even par for the day, but a bogey on the par four 9th left him four shots out of the lead and finishing in third place at the end of the day.

The 2016 SCGA Senior Championship was played on the 6,536 yard Orangeburg Country Club layout in Orangeburg, SC. The starting field consisted of 103 players over the age of 55 and was cut to the low 60 and ties after the first two days of play.
