IRVING, TX (March 9, 2016) First round leader Jerry Hudgins has won the rain shortened Texas Super Senior at Las Colinas Country Club. While Andy Wall won the Legends Division. For both it was their first title in either division.
With heavy rains soaking north Texas the final two rounds of the Texas Super Senior were cancelled. The initial hope had been to play a 36-hole tournament with the final round being played on Wednesday following the second round being cancelled on Tuesday.
Hudgins made the turn on Monday at 1-over par but rode two back nine birdies to an even-par score of 71.
Gary Kirwan and Jody Vasquez both carded 3-over 74's to finish in a second place tie. While Charles Reeves and his 75 finished four off the pace.
For Vasquez this was his second consecutive runner-up finish after losing in a playoff last year.
Wall won with a first round 5-over 76. Bob Hullender (78) and Don Grider (79) rounded out the top three in the Legends Division.
