Bob Kearney maintains four-shot lead at Golfweek Senior Tour Championship

MARICOPA, Ariz. — Looking for two wins in two weeks, Bob Kearney of Houston, Texas followed up his 65 with 71 on Thursday at the Golfweek Senior Tour Championship.
Kearney, who won last week's Society of Seniors Championship, made nine birdies during his opening round on Wednesday at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club, home of the annual Saguaro Amateur.
Don Reycroft fired 69 in round two and jumped into solo second place. Despite a double-bogey on the final hole of the day, he'll have a chance at catching Kearney Friday afternoon in the desert southwest.
Bev Hargraves posted the lowest score of the day — 68. He moved into third place with the second-day score, which included four birdies in his last six holes.
Paul Schlachter, who was in second place after the first round, shot 74 on Thursday and is now in fourth place at 1-under par 143.
In the Super Senior division, Gary Kirwan emerged from a pack of three players who shared the first round lead. With rounds of 72-73, the McKinney, Texas resident leads by one over Fred Clark and by three over Dave Kempner.
The Legends division had Joe Pavoni (75-75) extending his lead on Thursday, which is now three strokes over Fred Silver.
