Osborn, Wax win Southern California Four-Ball
First-time winners Danny Wax, Bowen Osborn (SCGA)
It was a day of fresh faces, as Bowen Osborn and Danny Wax captured the title of SCGA Four-Ball Champions with a two-day total of 13-under 131.
First-time SCGA winners, Osborn and Wax beat out a handful of SCGA veterans in a loaded field at Glendora CC. The duo opened up the tournament with a 6-under 66, placing them in a tie for second-place heading overnight. With a first-ever SCGA crown on their minds, Osborn/Wax went out on the final-day and posted a 7-under 67, cementing their title by one stroke.
The victorious duo held off SCGA stalwarts Mark Miller and Dan Sullivan who were looking to win their first SCGA Four-Ball, having won previous SCGA Foursomes.
Miller/Sullivan weren't the only seasoned SCGA golfers that needed to be maneuvered, as the first-round leading combo of Jason Bittick (won Four-Ball with different partner in 2010) and Robert Funk (former SCGA Mid-Amateur Champ) were nipping at their heels with a tournament total of 132.
