Todd Hendley Takes Early Lead at South Carolina Mid-Amateur

Todd Hendley shot nines of 34-33 for a total of five under par 67 to take the first round lead in the South Carolina Golf Association's (SCGA) Mid-Amateur Championship at Green Valley Country Club. Hendley’s 67 included six birdies and one bogey on the par four 15th hole. The 2012 Mid-Amateur Champion and reigning SCGA Senior Champion holds a two shot lead over his nearest competitor and the 2003 & 2013 Mid-Amateur Champion, Lee Palms.
Dani Ezelle and two time Champion, Steve Liebler are tied for third at two under par 70. Four other players are tied at 71. Defending Champion, Robert Dargan, had to withdraw due to illness after helping with the relief effort in the Columbia area.

The 2015 SCGA Mid-Amateur Championship is being conducted on the par 72 ~ 6,781 yard Green Valley Country Club course in Greenville, SC. The field consists of 120 individuals playing 54 holes of stroke play and will be cut to the low 60 and ties after the second round. The Mid-Amateur is one of 21 Major Championships conducted by the South Carolina Golf Association and is in its 34th year of existence.
