LEWISVILLE, Texas (July 31, 2015) – The 45th Texas State Open came to close Friday at The Lakes at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas.

Taking the low amateur spot was Kolten Crawford of Mansfield, Texas. This marks Crawford’s third low amateur honors at the event in the last four years, a new tournament record. The rising senior at the University of Arkansas carded rounds of 72, 68, 68, and 69 to finish in a tie for 8th place at 11-under par.

Also achieving success as an amateur was Michael Perras of Pasadena, Texas. Perras vaulted up the leaderboard to third place after a spectacular third-round 63 but had trouble following it up in the final round. Perras shot a 75 on Friday and fell back into a tie for 14th place. Nonetheless, a great week for the sophomore at University of Houston.

Perras and Crawford were joined by Cash Wilkerson of Spring, Texas and Derek Oland of McKinney, Texas as the four amateurs to make the cut (1-under) this week.
