Eunice Yi wins Georgia Women's Amateur
STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — GRU-Augusta junior Eunice Yi posted 70 in the final round at Eagle's Landing Country Club to push ahead of second-round leader Janet Mao. Her 54-hole total of 215 gave her a four-stroke win over Mao, the 2014 Georgia Women's Match Play champion who will play collegiately for Northwestern University beginning this fall.
Mao led by two entering Wednesday's final round but posted 76 and fell four back of Yi.
Defending champion Brenda Pictor and Laura Coble came in tied for third place at six-over 222. Pictor, age 59, rebounded nicely from an opening-round 76 to climb inside the top-five in her attempt to repeat.
