VANCOUVER, Wash. (June 7, 2015) – Play at the Royal Oaks Country Club concluded this weekend as University of Oregon’s rising junior Nigel Lett shot a final round 76 to win by 1 shot over former University of Portland golfer, Kevin Beavers.
Lett, who resides in Beaverton, Ore., entered the final round with a comfortable 5-shot lead. He would need all the cushion he had as double bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes brought him back to the field.
Meanwhile, Beavers began his charge early in his round with a birdie and an eagle on Nos. 5 and 6, followed by birdies at 13 and 15 for a final round 70. Beavers would fall just short as Lett finished with three pars to secure the title.
