South Carolina Senior: Hendley takes big lead into final round
Todd Hendley has an 8-shot lead
AWENDAW, South Carolina (May 13, 2015) -- Todd Hendley continued his dominance over the Bulls Bay layout in the 57th Senior Championship, shooting the low score of the day for the second day in a row with a five under par score of 67. Hendley’s two day total of 133 gives him an eight shot lead over past Champions Frank Ford, III and Mike Weiner.
In what is turning into a one horse race, Hendley made his first birdie of the day right out of the gate. Adding six more birdies against only two bogies in his second round, the Greer resident increased his first round lead of three shots to eight shots.
Tied for second place at three under par 141 are 2008 Champion Mike Weiner and 2011 Champion Frank Ford. North Charleston’s Jack Stone is alone in fourth place at 142.
With the Bulls Bay winds considerably less than the first round, overall average scores were almost 2.5 shots better than day one. 60 players made the cut with a score of 154 or better. The Final round will begin on Thursday at 8.00 a.m. on #1 and #10 tees with the lead group beginning at 9.30 a.m.
