Auburn edges Vanderbilt at Schenkel Collegiate

STATESBORO, Ga. — After the tournament was forced to play its final 36 holes on Saturday to avoid an impending day of inclement weather on Sunday, Auburn surged past first-round leaders Vanderbilt to win the Schenkel Collegiate Invitational.
Senior Daniel Stringfellow grabbed first place in the individual realm thanks to a tournament-low 65 in the first 18 holes of Saturday's double duty. He closed it off with 69 in the afternoon and held off a group of people one shot back, including two of his own teammates.
Ben Schlottman and Will Long finished in a tie for second place to help the Tigers to the one-shot team win. Two Vanderbilt players, Mattias Schwab and Theo Humphrey also finished in the runner-up position.
Auburn and Vanderbilt were the top two teams in the tournament by 20 shots as host Georgia Southern grabbed third place at 20-under par 844.
