Jeff Fortson, Michael Walton medal at Goose Creek U.S. Four-Ball Qualifier

MIRA LOMA, Calif. — The duo of Jeff Fortson and Michael Walton shot eight-under par 63 to medal at Goose Creek Golf Club in the final California qualifier for the upcoming U.S. Amateur Four-Ball.
Fortson, a three-time U.S. Mid-Amateur competitor, and Walton, a former Pepperdine University golfer, made no bogeys and eight birdies en route to their first-place finish. The players edged three other groups who shot 64.
Also qualifying for their trip to The Olympic Club, winning two spots in a three-way playoff, were the groups of Iain MacDonald and Bob Valerio, and David Bartman and Edward Fryatt.
Missing out in the playoff and grabbing the first alternate spot were Tyler Crawford and Tim Graham. The duo bogeyed the 18th hole.
