Florida State storms back to win Seminole Intercollegiate

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Led by sophomore Jack Maguire's final-round 64, Florida State stormed back to win their host event, the Seminole Intercollegiate by three strokes over second-round leaders East Tennessee State.
The Seminoles trailed ETSU by eight entering the last round before the host team shot 17-under to burst into the lead. Another sophomore, Josh Lee, posted 68 while junior Rowin Caron carded a 69 to help the Seminoles to their tournament-low round of 271.
Maguire finished in second place, three shots behind individual winner Gudmundur Kristjansson, the ETSU junior from Iceland. Gudmundur opened with 63, followed 67 and 69 to post 199 over the 54-hole event. Third place went to Will Starke of third-place finishing South Carolina. Starke shot 66 in the final round as his team finished just a stroke behind ETSU.
The defending champion Mercer Bears took ninth place, 18 strokes behind Florida State.
