Defending champion Doug Hanzel remains tied for Jones Cup Senior lead
Doug Hanzel
SEA ISLAND, Ga. — Defending champion Doug Hanzel of Savannah, Ga. is right where he wants to be at the Jones Cup Senior Invitational — tied for the 36-hole lead heading into Wednesday's final round.
He shares the lead at two-under par 140 with fellow Savannah resident Jack Hall, who shot his second-consecutive round of 70 on Tuesday. Hanzel fired 69 on Monday and 71 on Tuesday.
Hanzel's first-round co-leader Rocky Costa of Alpharetta, Fa. shot 72 in round two and is alone in third place, just a stroke back of the leaders.
Golfweek Senior National Championship winner Steve Hudson of Birmingham, Ala. is three back in fourth place while Mark Benefield of Peachtree Corners is five back in fifth place.
