Trailing at the beginning of the day, Bryan
Hoops was two back of the leaders and Rick Bojalad
three back, Bryan Hoops and Rick Bojalad both
posted low numbers on Sunday to come from behind
an tie at the top of the leaderboard with two-day
scores of 117. Rick posted a seven under 54 while
Bryan posted a six under 55. The playoff went just
one hole as Bojalad birdied the first hole while Hoops
scored a par.
Teeing off first on hole #10 Hoops’ tee shot with a
fairway wood landed about 40 yards short of the
green on the right side just off the fairway in light
rough. Bojalad then chose to use driver and his ball
landed just in front of the green, rolled across the
front and settled some 10 feet off the green on the
right side. Hoops’ second shot landed on the green
and quickly stopped leaving him a 15 foot uphill putt.
Bojalad then chipped to about 4 feet from the hole.
Both players had uphill putts for birdies. Bryan was
away and his putt just missed the hole, stopping less
than a foot away. Rick then sank his putt for the
birdie and the win.
