Scott Harvey leads early at South American Amateur
LIVE ROUND 2 SCORESLIMA, Peru — One of only two Americans in the 68-man, South American Amateur Championship field is 36-year-old Scott Harvey, reigning U.S. Mid-Amateur champion.
On Thursday at Lima Golf Club in Peru's capital city, Harvey carded a six-under 66, and leads Juan Alvarez of Uruguay and Marcos Montenegro of Argentina by a shot.

Harvey, who will be one of seven amateurs in The Masters' field in April, recorded no bogeys in his opening-round.
The 2013 Mid-Amateur champion, Mike McCoy of Iowa, is also in the field for this 72-hole event. He shot 74 and is in a tie for 29th place.
Andre Tourinho, the Brazilian who tied for third at last week's inaugural Latin America Amateur, is three back in fourth place after a 69.
Other notable players include Chile's Joaquin Niemann (71), Northern Ireland's Chris Selfridge (73), and No. 3 ranked amateur in the world, Ashley Chesters of England (74).
