Austin Connelly to face Andres Gallegos in Argentine Amateur final

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (Nov. 15, 2014) — Austin Connelly, a 2015 commit to Wake Forest University from Canada, and Andres Gallegos, of Argentina, will battle on Sunday for the Argentine Amateur title.
Connelly knocked off his fellow countryman Corey Conners, who was medalist by six shots after stroke-play qualifying, in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon, 2-and-1.
Gallegos defeated his own fellow countryman, Andres Schonbaum in the semifinals 2-up.
Connelly handed Uruguay native Juan Alvarez a 5-and-3 defeat in the quarterfinals while Gallegos beat Jesus Dario Montenegro 3-and-2 in his quarterfinal matchup.
