Kelley Nittoli wins Women's Southern Senior with final-round 70
KERRVILLE, Texas (Oct. 8, 2014) — Trailing by three heading into the final round of the 54-hole Women's Southern Senior Amateur, Kelley Nittoli fought back in Wednesday's finale to claim a one-shot victory.
Nittoli, of San Antonio, posted rounds of 78 and 73 on Monday and Tuesday, but her closing 70, the lowest round of the tournament, flung her into the lead for good.
Tanna Richard of Ft. Smith, Ark. was the second round leader at 148 but 77 on Wednesday pushed her back to third place, four back of Nittoli.
Marlene Summers of Montgomery, Texas finished alone in second place, shooting 76-74-72.
