Michael Turner wins L.A. City Senior Championship by two
Michael Turner
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Sept. 28, 2014) — Michael Turner entered the final round of the Los Angeles City Senior Championship trailing David Ujihara by three shots after an opening-round 72.
But a 68 on Sunday shot Turner, who was tied for third, up the leaderboard into a two-shot win at Griffith Park Golf Course.
Turner has been playing well late in 2014. He won the Pasadena City Senior before heading to Big Canyon in Newport Beach where he reached the quarterfinals.
Second place went to three players, including Bob Valerio, who had the lowest round of the tournament — a Sunday 67 — to send him from 17th place into a three-way tie for second.
Ujihara also tied for second (69-73) along with John Mack, who shot consecutive 71's.
