Medalist Berman loses in quarterfinals at Richardson Memorial

HEWLETT HARBOR, N.Y. (Sept. 18, 2014) — Hal Berman shot 70 and earned medalist honors at the Richardson Memorial Invitational on Wednesday. On Thursday, after winning 7-and-6 in the first round, he was handed a 6-and-4 defeat in the quarterfinals at the hands of Kevin Dolph.
Berman fought hard to stay in the match, winning holes 9 and 10 to move to two-down, but then Dolph won four consecutive holes to close out the match on 14.
Dolph also had an impressive 5-and-4 win in the first round over Chris O'Keefe.
Dolph will face Pat Pierson in the semifinals Friday morning while the other matchup will consist of Ryan Hom and Joe Saladino (pictured).
Hom recently won the Long Island Mid-Amateur while Saladino captured this year's Long Island Amateur.
