Wright jumps into lead with 67 at Sunnehanna Senior
Hal Wright
WESTMONT, Pa. (Sept. 9, 2014) — After trailing the leaders by four shots following Monday's opening round at the Sunnehanna Senior Invitational, Hal Wright posted a four-under par 67 to move into sole possession of first place with 18 more holes to play on Wednesday.
Wright, of Shreveport, La., will head into the final round paired with David Lucks and Paul Schlachter, who trail him by only a stroke. Lucks shot 71 on Tuesday while Schlachter shot 72.
The two other first-round co-leaders other than Schlachter — John Rodney and Ron Weaver — both fell out of the top three but are nonetheless still in contention. Rodney shot 73 and is two shots back while Weaver shot 76 and is now five back and tied for 11th.
In the Super Senior division, Jeffrey True, going 71-70, holds a one-shot lead over John Peters, who shot the lowest Super Senior round on Tuesday — 68.
First-round leader Ray Seemiller struggled to a 76 but is only four shots behind the new leader True.
