Seven-shot win for John Howson at Maryland Senior
MYERSVILLE, Md. (September 9, 2014) — Not often you have a tournament with co-leaders after one round and a seven-shot winner after the next. John Howson used his Tuesday 65 to do just that at the Maryland Senior Amateur, held this year at Musket Ridge Golf Club.
Howson, after an opening-round 68, was tied for the lead with Larry Storck before shooting seven-under par in the final round to win the event by seven strokes.
Storck shot 77 on Tuesday, falling back into a tie for fifth place.
Finishing in second place was Mike Occi, who fired consecutive rounds of 70 to finish two shots ahead of third place finisher Martin West at 142.
