Trailing by one after the first round to Matt Ritchie, Kyatt fired a 67 — the lowest round of the tournament — to take a five-shot lead into Monday's final round. Second-place finisher Eddie Brescher shot the second lowest round of the event, 69, on Monday to finish a shot behind Kyatt.

2009 Alabama Mid-Amateur champion Robert Nelson finished in a tie for sixth place, shooting rounds of 76-76-70.

ABOUT THE Labor Day Invitational

Championship division plays a 54-hole medal play event. The remaining seven flights of the tournament compete in a two-man, best-ball, round-robin competition that uses a points system for scoring.
