White leads Charlotte City by a stroke entering final round
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 23, 2014) — Peyton White fired the tournament's lowest round in Friday's opening round, then followed with 73 on Saturday but still leads the Charlotte City Amateur by a shot.
Entering the final round, White leads three players who are just a stroke behind. Joe Jaspers, Davidson University sophomore Andy Simmons, and former VCU golfer Chase Sargent sit at 138.
Sargent, and Barry Dyche in fifth, shot the low rounds of the day — 69.
The field will play the renowned Quail Hollow Golf Club in Sunday's final round.

Charlotte City Amateur
54 hole stroke play championship that has been
played for over 50 years. After 18 holes the field will
be cut to the low 50 and ties. After 36 holes the field
will be cut to the low 24 (no ties). Ties for the low
24 will be decided by an on course play off. The low
24 will be exempt from qualifying for the following
year. Played over three different Charlotte-area
courses. Entry is open to any amateur golfer who is
a
legal resident of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina
and has a current USGA handicap index of 6.4 or
below.
