McMahon, Martin in Arizona Amateur final
Alex McMahon
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 15, 2014) — Alex McMahon continued his tear through the Arizona Amateur, though the No. 1 seed faced two tough matches on his road to the final. The University of Arizona golfer needed the 18th hole to win both Friday matches, including a quarterfinal matchup with college rival Blake Cannon of Arizona State.
McMahon will face Michael Martin in the 36-hole final Saturday at Desert Highlands.
Martin handed Charles David the biggest defeat in Friday morning's quarterfinal matches — a 6-and-5 beating — to advance to the semis where he battled former professional Trey Martin.
