North Carolina Match Play final rescheduled for August 8
WALLACE, N.C. (August 3, 2014) — The North Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship final match between Al Dickens, IV and David Donovan, IV has been rescheduled for Friday, August 8 at noon at River Landing's Landing Course. Heavy rains in the area forced tournament officials to suspend, and eventually cancel Sunday's final match.

Al Dickens, IV of Charlotte will face David Donovan, IV of Hampstead on Sunday morning at River Landing.
Dickens, IV a redshirt junior at East Carolina University, cruised past Stanhope Johnson, Jr. of Greensboro 5-and-3 in the quarterfinals. Then he faced rising College of Charleston freshman Philip Oweida of Charlotte in a tight semifinal match-up.
Dickens, IV held a narrow one-up lead from holes 4 through 15 before Oweida holed a birdie on 16 to square the match...

ABOUT THE
North Carolina Amateur Match Play
Open to any male amateur golfer 13 and older. Must
be
a resident of North Carolina and a member of a CGA
club with an index no greater than 9.9. Sectional
qualifying is required for those who do not meet the
exemption criteria. Format consists of 36 holes of
stroke play qualifying followed by a cut to the low 32
players for match play.
