SCARSDALE, N.Y. (July 14, 2014) -- Ned Zachar shot 72-69 to break through and win a big one -- the Mittlemark Invitational.

Zachar, who had been searching for this title for the past 10 years, realized the victory, finishing one shot better than Denver Brown and Matthew Lowe.

The event is played at the renowned A.W. Tillinghast-designed Fenway Golf Club and Zachar managed to contain the quick greens and battled tough weather conditions in the victory.

“I kept the ball in play all day long,” Zachar told LoHudBlogs.com. “I made a putt here and there, and really didn’t make any mistakes outside a couple of problems at No. 15.”

The 52-year-old champion was four back after the morning round before catching fire and closing with the 2-under 69.
