Grimmer leads Dorn, Crouch at Ohio State Amateur
Will Grimmer
CINCINNATI, Ohio (July 10, 2014) -- Red-hot Will Grimmer stayed hot Thursday, firing a third-round 69 to remain atop the leaderboard at the 2014 Ohio Amateur Championship.
At Coldstream Country Club, Grimmer posted his second straight round in the 60s, following up on his stellar second-round 66, and will take a three-shot lead into the final round.
Short on the heels of the Ohio State commit, however, are two of the state's best players in Andrew Dorn and Tim Crouch.
Dorn, who plays at Coastal Carolina, and Crouch, of Florida Southern, both sit at 3-under following third round totals of 69 and 70, respectively.
Dorn, of course, joined Grimmer as one of just 11 amateurs in the U.S. Open field last month.
Clark Engle is fourth at 1-ounder while Boo Timko rounds out the Top 5 entering the final round of play.
