British Amateur: Lombard, Neil reach final
Portrush, County Antrim, Ireland (June 21, 2014) -- Neil Bradley and Zander Lombard both won two matches Saturday to punch their tickets to the championship match Sunday at the 2014 British Amateur Championship at Royal Portrush.
Bradley knocked off Connor Syme, 2 and 1, in the semifinals following his dominant 7 and 6 win over Haraldur Magnus in the morning quarterfinal.
Lombard, who hails from South Africa, defeated Paul Howard in the quarterfinal round before dispatching of Sean Towndrow, 1 up, in the afternoon semifinal.
The two finalists square off in Sunday's finale, which is slated to tee off at 8:30 a.m.

This championship, along with the US Amateur Golf
Championship, is considered the most important in
amateur golf.
The first stage of the Championship involves 288
players each of whom plays two rounds of 18 holes,
one to be played on each of the two courses. The 64
lowest scores over the 36 holes and ties for 64th
place will compete in the match play stage of the
Championship. Each match will consist of one round
of 18 holes except the Final which will be over 36
holes.
