Atlanta Open: 2 amateurs in contention
ATLANTA, Ga. (June 9, 2014) -- Two amateurs are within striking distance after Round 1 at the 2014 Atlanta Open.
At Atlanta National Golf Club, Erik Martin and William Mitchell both shot 3-under 69 to lead the amateur contingency and sit just a shot behind co-leaders Matthew Evans and Jeff Gotham.
Martin plays out of The Golf Club of Georgia while Mitchell is representing Bobby Jones Golf Club.
Amateur Bob Royak of St. Ives Country Club is also in inside the Top 10 after shooting 1-under 71.
