ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (June 8, 2014) -- Grant Forrest topped Bradley Neil in a playoff to win the 2014 St. Andrews Links Trophy.

Forrest, who plays his college golf at the University of San Diego, fired rounds of 66-68-73-71 and finished tied with Bradley Neil, one of Europe's top amateurs, at the end of the 72-hole stroke-play championship.

Thomas Rowland finished third, shooting 69-74-71, tied alongside Daniel Wasteney (71-69-71-68), Federico Zucchetti (64-73-73-69) and Paul Howard (70-70-69-70).

The St. Andrews Links Trophy is a 72-hole stroke play event that draws one of the top amateur fields in Europe. The large field plays two rounds at the Old Course and one additional (sometimes the Jubilee, sometimes the New) before the field is cut to the low 40 and ties.

The final two rounds are played on the Old Course.
