Long Island Open: Clancy Waugh takes low amateur

BRIDGEHAMPTON, N.Y. (June 6, 2014) -- Wake Forest's Clancy Waugh took low amateur honors at the 2014 Long Island Open at The Bridge.
Shooting 75-66-70, Waugh was four shots better than the second lowest amateur, Kurt Brey of Bethpage State Park. Matthew Love and Garrett Engel finished a shot behind Brey to round out the top amateur finishers.
Waugh, who won ths Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and added Top 15 finishes at the Irish Creek Collegiate and the ACC Championship this past season, was in contention with his second-round 66 but couldn't keep the magic going in the final round.
Former Massachusetts Open champion Jimmy Hazen was the overall winner with rounds of 68-74-71.
