Birmingham National Invitational: Hickman surges for win

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (June 1, 2014) -- Aaron
Hickman of Dallas fired rounds of 69-71-70--210 (3-
under on the par 71 layout) to win the Birmingham
National Invitational against a top field of national
and regional mid-amateur players.
Hickman, who hails from Tyler, Texas and played for
TCU, won by one from three players including former
University of Alabama golfer Matthew Swan (69-69-
73), Patrick Christovich of New Orleans (71-71-69)
and Craig Smith of Nashville (72-66-73), all at 2-
under 211.

continues to attract a solid field of mid-am players

This 54-hole stroke play event, formerly
held the weekend after Memorial Day but moved to
November in 2020, dates back to
the early 1900's and is also known as the "NIT". Draws
a field of national-level mid-amateurs.
