Chicago Sr. Amateur: Miler, Ryan to meet in final
HOMEWOOD, Ill. (May 22, 2014) -- Tom Miler contibued his run of success at the 13th CDGA Senior Amateur Championship at Calumet Country Club.
After taking the tournament's No. 1 seed, Miler went on a run on the first day of match play. He beat Dirk Anderson 6 and 5 before knocking off Merritt Cook 1-up and Tom Studer 2 and 1. That sets him up for a match Friday morning in the championship against Dave Ryan.
Anderson had previously defeated Miler in the semifinal in 2011 on his way to victory.
Ryan clinched his spot in the finale with wins over Dan Roan, Vance Antoniou and Mark Gallaugher.
Miler, of course, is aiming for his third straight victory at the CDGA Senior Amateur.
