Crowded at the top of the NAIA Championship
Jose Rolz leads at the NAIA Championship
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (May 15, 2014) — The Faulkner University Eagles have the lead, but with 36 holes left, it is anyone’s ballgame.
After posting a two round total of one-under 575, Faulkner holds a slim two stroke advantage over Texas Wesleyan. The Rams of Texas Wesleyan posted the lowest team score of the second round with a three-under par 285 to begin mounting a comeback. College of Coastal Georgia and Oklahoma City are not far behind at five-over 581.
Held at the Jones Course at LPGA International this year, the Oklahoma City Stars have won the NAIA Men’s Championship the past two years, and are only six strokes off the lead and a potential three-peat.
Jose Pablo Rolz of Texas Wesleyan leads the event after a lights-out 67 to go along with a first round one-under 71. Hrafin Gudlaugsson of Faulkner University is close behind in second at three-under par 141.
