BRYAN, Texas (May 2, 2014) -- Mike Peck was challenged early in Friday's final round but in the end, he was able to lock down his second straight Tower Invitational title.
Under perfect conditions at Miramont Country Club, Peck fired his third straight 1-under 70 to close out a spectacular wire to wire finish.
For the second straight year, it was Bob Kearney who put the final round pressure on him.
Kearney shot 69 on Thursday and Friday, making life a bit stressful for Peck early in the final round. In the end, though, it was Peck's consistent play, no matter the conditions.
"He won the tournament with that 70 in the first round," Tournament Director Brad Lardon. "He's just such a steady player."
On Wednesday, wind played a major factor with gusts reaching 35 MPH. Weather subsided though and Peck remained the player to beat.
Gary Kirwan won the Super Senior division, shooting 75 in the final round to edge out a group of contenders, including first round leader and overnight co-leader Walt Martin.
