ACC: Schniederjans, Florida State lead

NEW LONDON, N.C. (April 25, 2014) -- Georgia Tech star and recent U.S. Palmer Cup team addition Ollie Schniederjans shot a 7-under 65 and leads the individual field at the at the 2014 ACC Championship at Old North State Club.
Schniederjans birdied eight holes to take the early lead at the conference championship.
“Obviously based on the conditions with the last 11 holes, it was one of the best rounds I’ve ever seen,” Georgia Tech Head Coach Bruce Heppler said of Schniederjans’ performance to TheACC.com. “It was a pretty incredible round of golf.”
In the team race, Florida State leads after Round 1.
Hank Lebioda shot 4-under 68 and Cristobal Del Solar a 71 to lead the Seminoles, who sit four shots up on Georgia Tech, which is alone in second place.
Clemson sits third, five shots back of Florida State and one ahead of Wake Forest.
Round 2 of the ACC Championship continues Saturday.
