Chris Maletis, Rich Tolly, Richard Alarid and Steven Hakes are all tied for fifth after first-round 72s.

In the Super Senior division, John Richart and Ted Smith share the lead. Both players shot first-round 71s and are a shot better than David Crocker, Jim Holtgrieve and John Walker, who all shot 72 in Monday's Round 1.

The 54-hole invitational stroke play event requires some stamina to contend against a huge field at this 36 hole facility. The annual event attracts great senior players from all over the country.
