TUCSON, Ariz. (March 15, 2014) -- California might have shot 13 shots worse than its first-round score at the National Invitational Tournament, but its 7-under 281 Saturday at OMNI Tucson (Ariz.) National stretched the Bears' lead to 16 shots.
At 27 under, third-ranked Cal leads second-place SMU (11 under), third-place New Mexico (9 under), fourth-place San Diego State (8 under) and Oklahoma State, the No. 2-ranked team in the country, which fell from second to fifth after an even-par 288 Saturday.
Michael Weaver holds the individual lead for Cal at 7 under, one shot better than SMU's Harry Higgs and Cal teammate Keelan Kilpatrick.
Joel Stalter (5 under), Brandon Hagy (3 under) and James Yoon (3 under) are all T-11 or better for the Bears.
