Williams/Midtgaard win FL South Mid-Senior Four-Ball
(FSGA)
The duo of Pete Williams from Juno Beach and Thomas Midtgaard from Fort Myers prevailed in a playoff to win the South Mid-Senior Four-Ball Championship at Lost Tree Club in North Palm Beach. After posting rounds of 65-65, Williams and Midtgaard found themselves tied with 2010 Mid-Senior Four-Ball Champs RJ Nakashian and four-ball extraordinaire Stephen Anderson. Earlier this year, Anderson won the Mid-Amateur Four-Ball North Championship and the Senior/Mid-Am Four-Ball Championship. However, Anderson’s and Nakashian’s previous experience was not enough.
On the first play-off hole RJ missed a short birdie putt to leave the door open for Midtgaard to convert his birdie putt for the win. Midtgaard calmly rolled in his birdie putt to end the play-off and claim the 2013 title with partner Williams.
