Patrick Soli captures Santa Cruz City
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (August 11, 2013) — Patrick Soli had seven players in front of him on the leaderboard heading into Sunday's final round, but a 71 was good enough to sneak into first and take home the Santa Cruz City Amateur title.
At a 36-hole total of 143, Soli won the event by just one stroke over Alex Bungert, a senior at St. Mary's College who fired 73 on Sunday to finish at 144.
First-round leader and San Jose native Adam Loran followed up his one-under par 69 on Saturday with a Sunday 77, which placed him in a tie for fourth.
In solo third place was another St. Mary's golfer, incoming freshman Adam West, who shot a final-round 72 to bring his 36-hole total to 145.
