BEAUMONT, Calif. (July 18, 2013) -- Amateur Jay Hwang fired a final-round 70 to take lone possession of low amateur honors at the 2013 California State Open.
Hwang finished at 11-under, six shots back of winner Ray Beaufils, who prevailed in a playoff over James Drew.
Hwang finished with rounds of 71-68-68-70, beating Kevin Lee by four shots for low amateur.
Lee was tied for 24th with rounds of 71-68-68-74.
Clayton Yamaguchi was tied for 26th after shooting 73-72-66-71.

The Championship will be a 72-hole stroke play
tournament contested over four days. Following the
conclusion of 36-holes, the field will be cut to the Top
60 players and ties. Championship is open to both
Professionals and Amateurs. Amateurs must carry an
index of 2.4 or below at the time of entry. Pre-
qualifying required for non-exempt players.
