VIENNA, W.VA.— Harpers Ferry’s David Bradshaw has won his seventh West Virginia Open title today, shooting 11-under-par for the Championship. With his victory, the pro will receive a $6,000 cut of the $30,000 purse. Bradshaw last won the Open when it was hosted by The Pines Country Club in 2011.

Amateur golfer, Sam O’Dell made quite a run for his money this week, moving up the ladder to finish runner-up. The 2013 WV Mid-Amateur Champion shot 5-under-par today to bump himself up to a runner-up and low amateur finish.

During today’s round, Bradshaw shot 67, with one eagle, four birdies and just one bogey on hole number five. The Harpers Ferry native made just three bogeys the entire week.Vienna’s Scott Bibbee, who was in the next-to-last pairing group today, finished T10, winning the Low Senior award.

ABOUT THE West Virginia Open

Entries are open to male amateur golfers with an active GHIN Handicap Index of 8.0 or less through a WVGA Member Club and Professionals. Qualifying is required for those who do not meet the exemption criteria. Format is 54-holes of stroke play with the field cut to the low 60 players and ties after 36 holes.
